Here are the 5 most common New Year’s resolutions.🎯🗓️
How many are on your list?
1. Exercise: Hitting the gym, walking more, or finally using that workout app.
2. Lose weight: Cutting back on sugar, fast food, or emotional snacking.
3. Save more money: Budgeting, paying off debt, or trying not to impulse-buy online.
4. Reduce stress: Better sleep, mindfulness, setting boundaries.
5. Learn something new: A language, skill, hobby, or going back to school.
These show up every year and are usually strong until about mid-February 😄
Daily Activation Plan 🚀💪
Behavioral Activation is a science-based approach that helps increase meaningful, fun, and routine activities. Instead of waiting to feel motivated before taking action, use small, planned actions to create positive momentum. This helps reset brain behavior patterns and leads to gradual and long-term change.
1. Clarify your core values and identify what matters to you in each category:
· Relationships (Family, friends, partner)
· Health (physical, mental)
· School/Work (focus, resilience, achievement)
· Growth/Learning (education, personal development, knowledge)
· Spirituality/Meaning (purpose, faith, life questions)
· School/Work (focus, resilience, achievement)
2. Connect your mood with your values even when your motivation is low.
Science shows that your mood will follow your values-based action.
3. Choose daily actions that reflect your values such as:
· If you value relationships → plan a dinner with your family
· If you value health → go for a walk
· If you value growth → read or listen to a podcast
4. Schedule values-based actions.
Make sure you plan at least one thing that is important and one thing that is fun every day.
5. Rate your day
At the end of the day, rate your day (0-10).
6. Reflect on why one day is rated higher than another and build similar activities into your daily schedule.
More Fun, Less Stress ✨😄
Science says laughter isn’t just noise, it’s also medicine. Play, joke, dance, or do something fun that makes your brain light up with dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin. Stress drops, creativity happens, memory improves, and your heart even gets a little workout.
Shared fun builds instant friendships and strengthens connections. So this year, make a few fun resolutions too!
